An interesting film that shows exactly how dangerous people can be.

The story follows Gary Hook (Jack O'Connell); who is sent to Belfast with a regiment of British soldiers while The Troubles where Protestants and Catholics were in armed conflict are going on. On their first roll-out, the situation got out of control, and the regiment gets split up, Gary Hook finds himself scared and alone in the streets of Belfast torn and crumbling due to the brutal war that it was caught in.

Shaking cameras and a grim atmosphere brought out something, unlike the ordinary in the film, this choice in directing exaggerates the scenes and really sells the period of Belfast they tried to recreate in '71. While watching you feel almost just as suppressed as the main character is. War movie enthusiasts will undoubtedly find something special here although the average moviegoer who isn't especially excited about war movies might find it a bit harder to pull through.

A ''war'' movie which for once isn't about WW2/Afghani wars or any better-known conflict is interesting, as it opens your eyes a bit and shows war is all around and not just in history or in the Middle East. The film is quite unique with a story that I hadn't seen before. A soldier lost in foreign streets hunted by Rioters, IRA and The Army some with better intentions than others. Yet an idea is not enough to make a movie. Luckily there was more than just the idea.

Sometimes feeling lost but mostly on point.
